Nobody seems to be talking about the biggest problem of all with Windows 7. Each and every application has a different menu system: messenger, media player, paint/wordpad, calculator, picture viewer etc.
I can’t see how this could be a feature nor a bug.
What do you think?

Windows has always been like that. One of the reasons I hate it so much. Each application has a different user interface, breaking all OS conventions. Even Window system interfaces are inconsistent with each other. It’s a horrible mess, and Microsoft will never learn.
It is interesting, but I see this as a feature. If you use Adobe products, none of them have the same menus – although they look similar they all have different purposes. Apps are become more and more complex, so I think it is an inevitable that they come with their own menu systems even in the start menu.
